Journals.....
Let's delve into the world of journals, because with so many on the market these days it can be bloody overwhelming. Am I picking the right one for me? Do I need to spend so much money? Am I going to stick to writing in it?
Journals are super useful for writing down your goals & manifestations, getting your thoughts & anxieties down on paper can help take a load off your mind so you can relax. They are like a little best friend we can vent to but without actually having to tell another person what's on our mind then feeling embarrassment & shame. They help you to work through issues and find the best solution for you without having other peoples thoughts & opinions clouding your judgement.
But which journal is the right one for you? My advice is don't start with guided journals, they add so much pressure to you so journaling becomes a chore rather than something that feels easy & free. I have bought so many guided journals in the past that promise to make all your dreams come true & they absolutely do now I can use them effectively. However if you are not in the right head space to use them in the correct way they have a knack for making you feel judged & not good enough because you skipped a day. It piles on top of you & you have empty pages with the day of the week plastered at the top so it just makes you feel like a failure.
Instead get yourself a notebook just a lined notebook, you can buy a pretty one so it feels special and just write. Write down whatever is in your head. Get into the habit of writing your thoughts every single day, but the beauty of just having a plain lined notebook is there's no days of the week. You don't have to feel shame for not writing one day. You don't have to feel overwhelmed that you have to write specific things at specific times of the day. You won't get frustrated at yourself for missing a day, you won't just give up because 'well I've missed 3 days now so there's no point doing it anymore' you can just grab your notebook when it feels right for you and write down all your thoughts & feelings with no prompts, nobody telling you what to write. One day you might feel like pouring your soul out & not setting any goals for yourself. One day you might feel like setting goals for yourself & not writing down what you could do better, you just want to be positive.
Then when you have the hang of writing every day & it feels comfortable, it is a habit you can't live without you will be able to move on to guided journals & use them effectively. Think of it as learning to walk before you can run.

Well-being

Let's start off small this week, consider this your homework!! Have at least one screen free day this weekend. We are all guilty of sitting on our phones or tablets. We see seemingly perfect lives of seemingly perfect people & it makes us feel less motivated because we feel like it is unobtainable.
You don't have time to do all the things you so desperately want to do, but you go into a TikTok coma & before you know it it's been a whole 60 minutes, do you know what you could do in 60 minutes? You could set the building blocks of actually living those seemingly perfect lives with those seemingly perfect people. If you are feeling low on your body image you could do a workout in that time. If you wish you had the perfect house you could use that time to organise a room. If you feel exhausted you could use that time to have a bath & do a face mask to make you feel energised & cared for. If you wish you had time to read you could use that time to become a real person who reads not just someone who wishes they had time to read.
What's Good This Week

I try to read a book each week, so I thought I'd share my reviews to spark your inner book worm each week, and also make me more committed to my goal. Reading is a great way to reduce anxiety, get lost in someone else's reality & leave your troubles behind. It's also a great way to unwind before bed.
The book I read this week was "The Seven Husbands of Evelyn Hugo" now this isn't my usual cup of tea but I am trying to be more open minded and try new genres. I am so glad I did, this book is wonderful. It pulls at your heart strings but not in a soppy way, in a cold hearted cynical way & leaves you wanting more. It's filled with scandal, heartbreak, female empowerment & shows you that love isn't always smooth sailing. Live your authentic life, don't waste time, go for what you want & own everything that you've ever done wrong, because without those mistakes you wouldn't be where you are now.

I couldn't stop thinking about Evelyn Hugo after I finished. So sad 😞
I loved reading this! You write so well and always put a smile on my face 💓
Absolutely loved reading this ❤️
